1865 - No 5 - Basin walls and lock during construction. - An earlier photo showing construction well under way of the basin looking toward the lock which leads into the main dock. Beyond, the hydraulic house is being built. It is amazing to see workers at height on the wooden gantries undertaking dangerous tasks without consideration for their safety.
