A search of the Glamorgan Archives [599] at Cardiff revealed further information about the dock extension including plans, text and a series of ten photographs detailing activity at Penarth Dock and locality in 1883. I believe that all of these fine photographic records were taken by local photographer Alfred Freke of Cardiff.
