Nos. 2 and 3 coal tips were intended to be worked simultaneously loading one ship, but it appears here that only No.2 tip is actually in use. The coal truck is already turned and orientated toward the entry of the tip upon the turntable and when released, will run under gravity down the inclined track to the lifting mechanism of the tip. Empty trucks exit at the lower level, collated and returned to their colliery of origin. The origin of this coal truck is the Glamorgan Coal Company of Cardiff.
