Penarth Dock - c.1904
An Alamy stock image of Penarth Dock in c.1908, the license of which was originally donated by Rota Design Limited. It features an amazing selection of shipping being coaled or waiting to be loaded. The upper image is as per the stock image and then it has been turned to grey-scale and lightened to show more detail. [000]

East end of Penarth Dock - c.1904
A view of the eastern end of the Penarth Dock showing the inclined wall prior to the building of the engineering works and the delivery of the pontoon during 1909. There is a boat building or repairing yard on the dockside the owners and history of which is yet to be researched. Your assistance welcome here! [000]

An enlargement in which the 'Bangarth' of Liverpool may be seen at tip number 1 loading coal. Three hands seem to be on deck supervising the operation; an interesting snapshot of the dock at work during the first decade of the 20th century. 'Bangarth' was launched in 1906 at Middlesborough and was of 1,872 gross register tons. She was built for the Rea Shipping Company Limited who eventually opened offices at London, Liverpool, Southampton, Bristol and Cardiff. In December 1917 she was torpedoed and sunk by a U-boat in the North Sea off the Tyne, en route for Dunkerque with a cargo of coal. [000]
