Penarth Dock 1906
1906 - Penarth Dock
Penarth Docks - 1900's - The scene from the eastern end of the main dock with sail and steam side-by-side. Congestion is a problem as ships ply for a quick turnaround. This postcard is hand coloured and is from the company Raphael Tuck & Sons Limited and was first published in 1906. An anomaly is that the postcard in the Penarth Dock Collection is stamped Weston-Super-Mare August 1904. [001] [119] The lower postcard which proclaims 'A Happy Christmas' is courtesy of the Tuck's archive so maybe this one dates from 1906. [474]

Penarth Dock - 20th Century
Penarth Docks - A hand coloured view from the the same period i.e. prior to 1909 when the pontoon would have been seen in the left of the picture. I believe the coal tip on the right is number 13 which was reconstructed by Tannett Walker & Co. of Leeds during 1904. [000] [002]
