A scene with a coal truck elevated and ready to be tipped, or has just been tipped, into the hold of the collier with its distinctive turret hull section. The tip is one of the new steel structures built in 1905-06 by Messrs. Tannett, Walker & Co. of Leeds and the title suggests that it is tip number 13 nearby the engineering works at the head of the dock. Since the date of the photograph logically predates the publication of the South Wales Coal Annual of 1908; lets say its taken in c.1907. [039] |
