Coal shipping at Penarth Dock

A photograph of the Penarth Dock looking toward the northern quay with a ship being loaded at moveable tips, numbers 19 and 20, built by Tannett, Walker & Co. of Leeds during 1905 - 1906, which was published within the 1908 South Wales Coal Annual, hence the date is thought to be c.1907. [039]

Tannett, Walker & Co. Limited with company number 57220 was incorporated in 1898 but was dissolved between 1916 and 1932. I requested information about the company at the Leeds Industrial Museum at Armley but they have no records of the company only some static exhibits. The West Yorkshire Archives do have information about the buildings occupied by the company. The company supplied a great deal of the coal handling hardware to Cardiff and Barry Docks also.
