Penarth Dock, South Wales - the heritage & legacy . . .
Volume Two - The Era of Optimism, Investment & Development - The age of global trade and optimism . . .
The TVR locomotive is purported to be an O2 class, 0-6-2T, Number 83 built in 1899 at the Neilson Reid works. She is seen at the Penarth Dock and Harbour Station in 1905. The dock and the western pump house is behind complete with chimney. I wonder if the portal frame forms part of the construction of the new engineering works built in support of the pontoon by the Penarth Dock Pontoon and Slipway Company Limited? This image seems to be a reduction of a postcard from the Spencer Powell Collection of the National Museum of Wales. The lower image is a colourised version. [061][025][028]
