'Italiana' taking on coal at Penarth Dock
The 'Italiana' taking on coal at Penarth dock during October 1910 according to the 1986 book 'Cardiff Shipowners' by J. Geraint Jenkins and David Jenkins. This book describes in great detail the sheer volume of ships, shipping companies and shipping magnates based at the port of Cardiff. They state that in 1910 there were 367 ships sailing the world's oceans which were Cardiff owned - an amazing statistic indeed! [370]
