Trade Street, Cardiff

The family engineering company premises in Trade Street, Cardiff. The text was written by my brother, Peter Carder, during his research of the Carder family history. Mildred was our mother being the second daughter of Frederick Riden. [001]

Just look at the price of four star petrol - 164.6 pence per gallon. There used to be two grades of petrol viz. two or four star - four star was the premium grade. Given there are 4.54609 litres to the Imperial Gallon the price per litre was about 36.2 pence in the Autumn of 1981 - those were the days! Also note the VW beetle, Ford Popular and Rover 2000 cars.
