The Royal Naval supply ship, an oil tanker, the "Eddyreef" taken in early 1959 as she proceeds up the dock. Built in 1953 at the Caledon yard in Dundee for the Admiralty she had a gross registered weight of 2,224 tons and a dead weight of 2,193 tons.
The warship laid-up in the background left, is the D66 "Zambesi" of 1944 built by Cammel Laird and broken up in 1959 at Briton Ferry. The M289 "Melita" was built by Redfern in 1942 and broken up in 1959 at Llanelli. [094] The lower image has been colourised. |
