A c.1961 photo of the Noble & Lund lathe situated within the main workshop at the Penarth Dock Engineering Company Limited. I recall assisting (watching and standing clear!) a very experienced turner on the lathe when we re-machined the journals of the rotor from a steam turbine complete with its many blades for the Aberthaw "A" power station. Can anyone put a name to the operator here please? [114]
