A view of the off loading operation using a steam crane of two cast iron tunnel segments from the steamship 'Cailey Fowlough' at the river Ely jetty especially built for the subway works. I suspect that the ship commenced her voyage with the cast iron segments from the port of Glasgow. The Taff Vale Railway - Volume 3 by John Hutton shows this image with the caption that these are the final two segments to be discharged at the Contractor's Jetty and the date is the 8th March 1898.
