"With a view to the reorganisation and more efficient and economical working of the railway system of Great Britain railways shall be formed into groups in accordance with the provisions of this Act, and the principal railway companies in each group shall be amalgamated, and other companies absorbed in manner provided by this Act." REPORT 1. The Directors present to the Proprietors their Report and Statement of Accounts for the year ended 31st December 1921. The Government control of the Company's Railway ceased on the 15th August, 1921, in accordance with the Ministry of Transport Act, 1919, and from that date the guarantee of Net Receipts became in-operative. On the 11th May, 1921, the Government introduced a Bill to provide for the re-organisation and further regulation of Railways and the discharge of liabilities arising in connection with the possession of Railways, and other purposes. |
