'A Pennyworth O' Fortune'

'A Pennyworth O' Fortune' - Taken at Penarth, near Cardiff.

A penny invested, the woman knocks a bird down with a stick, who picks up a piece of pink paper upon which is the following : -

"You will grow to be a handsome man, the idol of the ladies. Ere long you will be loved by a charming fair-haired lady with a large fortune, and will be married. You will have four sons, one of whom will be an eminent lawyer."

And it concluded with the following puzzle : -

"Find the donkey?"

The puzzle was easy to answer.

The article and photo appeared with a book entitled 'The Hand Camera and How to Use It.' by Walter D. Welford and published in London in 1892. [499] [589] [20170806]
