1949 - 'Passat' entering Penarth Dock sea lock on 4th October laden with grain at the end of her last commercial voyage from Australia. The arrival of these sailing vessels at Penarth was widely publicised and people came from far and wide to witness for themselves the end of the era of cargo carrying sailing vessels.
