1949 - 'Passat', and ahead, 'Pamir', moored up at Penarth Dock as seen in two photographs ; one dated 10th October 1949 on the reverse side.

The upper image provides a port side view of both vessels taken from a vantage point near the inner lock. Nearest is the barque 'Passat'. Both vessels appear to be fully laden.

The lower negative is, unfortunately, in a lesser condition but I have repaired it so far as practicable since I felt that it is a very worthy heritage record. It was taken from the northern quayside and is obviously from the same date.

The original glass negatives of these photographs are held at the archives of the National Museum of Wales. The lower image in each case has been colourised. [Museum item numbers : 1996.96/417 and 1996.96/418] [629] [20180415]
