Cardiff Records - 'Coal Drops at Cardiff' - A fine photo-lithographic illustration by an unknown artist taken from the series of volumes that make up the 'Cardiff Records' showing coal tips and dating the mid-19th century. The Cardiff Records, Volume VI state : 'Coal Drops at Cardiff - Reproduced by photo-lithography. These coaling staithes for loading coal into vessels show the equipment of the first docks constructed at Cardiff, about the middle of the 19th century. Illustrations of later development in appliances are given in proceedings of the Institution of Mechanical Engineers, and in various publications issued by the Cardiff Railway Company.' - [650] [000] [20180903]
