H.M.S. 'Havannah' - 50 guns.

H.M.S. 'Havannah' - 50 guns - artist unknown - In 1860 she was sent to Cardiff to serve as a 'Ragged School Ship' until she was sold in 1905 and sent to the breaker's yard. She was launched in 1811 and was soon embroiled in actions against French vessels in the English Channel and off the Channel Islands. The artists impression above states that she was of 50 guns when in fact she was built with 36 guns which was later reduced to 24! The image was brought to my attention courtesy of Phil Carradice via David Ings and is credited to the collections of the National Museum of Wales. [629] [Museum item number : not known] [20200531]
