| 1842 - Cardiff - A steel engraving by John Henry Le Keux (1812-1896) of a view over Cardiff by William Henry Bartlett (1809-1854) which was published in Finden's Ports and Harbours & Watering Places of Great Britain of 1842, the year of Bartlett's death. The lower image has been further enhanced and colourised. Note Penarth Head right, and the curious locations (artistic licence) of the Holms! Also the extent of the docks at that date, the old town hall and the church of St. John presumably as viewed from the castle wall. [000] [002] [20220409] |
