P.S. 'Cardiff Queen' approaching Weston-Super-Mare during May 1964.
A fine photograph, taken from the excellent book 'Coastal Steam Vessels of the British Isles', of the last paddle steamer to be built for P. & A. Campbell. According to the book, she undertook a 3 day trip to the Scilly Isles during the Summer Season of 1963. Her last excursion was in September 1966 to Lundy Island following which she was put up for sale ; the only offer coming from Cashmores of Newport, where she was broken up during 1968. What a sad loss! [860] [20201011]
