| The paddle steamer 'Brighton Belle' was originally built as the 'Lady Evelyn' in 1900 at the yard of J. Scott & Co. at Kinghorn. Seen here in the River Avon in 1938 having been rebuilt in 1904 when she was stretched by 30 feet and her vital statistics amended to those in brackets. 295 (320) tons gross register, 77 (127) net tons. She was 170' - 0" (200' - 0") long x 24' - 0" (24' - 1") breath x 8' - 4" (8' - 2") depth. She was wrecked during war service on the 28th May 1940. [154] |
