Cardiff Channel at Tide Time, with Penarth Head from Pier Head
Cardiff Channel at Tide Time, with Penarth Head from Pier Head
A lovely postcard view, plus colourised version, of 'Cardiff Channel at Tide Time, with Penarth Head from Pier Head' dating from the end of the nineteenth century. It is addressed to a Jeweler in Padstow, Cornwall and the sender is expecting his gold watch! Note the dredger and attendant barges and the paddle steamer at the pier head. Penarth Head is to be seen distant. [001]

The Docks, Cardiff
A postcard view of 'The Docks, Cardiff' posted in Cardiff in January 1901 to a young lady in Annecy, France from Maggie Nicholls. The view looks toward the entrance of the Bute Dock and the Pier Head, which is busy with paddle and screw tugs and perhaps, the departing Penarth ferry. [001]
