Penarth Dock, South Wales - 150 years - the heritage and legacy
Penarth Dock, South Wales - the heritage & legacy . . .

Volume Eight - Pre-Victorian to the present day - more aspects - George Wehrley - Photographer . . .

Photo by Wehrley, 97 Glebe St., Penarth, S.Wales.
The barque 'Hudson' moored abreast of the s.s. 'Vigo' which, unusually for George Wehrley, is not at Penarth Dock! George spent the majority of his time in his photography at Penarth, so I decided to investigate the location of this anomaly - see below. Another Wehrley heritage postcard held within the Penarth Dock Collection. [001]

The location of the distinctive warehouse being the backdrop for the postcard photograph above. The Aerofilms Album Number 22 dates from 1921. The warehouse is situated on the Bute East Dock opposites Hill's Dry Docks with the Dowlais Cardiff Works in the background. - map revised : 1898 to 1899, published 1901 [398] - Image : [RCAHMW image Item No. : DI2008_1197 135087] [089]
