c.1900 - Penarth Dock from the Allotments - A glass-plate negative view taken from above the Armstrong & Company of Newcastle-upon-Tyne coal tip No. 5 which was installed with No. 2 tip back in 1896. Coal Tips Nos. 6 and 7 to the left are the original 1865 design with some modification over the years. This photograph seems to me to have the hallmarks of a George Wehrley general view but I am not completely convinced.

This photograph is from a glass-plate negative (with colourised version) which unfortunately was damaged in the post and thus the image was kindly supplied by the seller on that well known auction website. Many thanks to Mike for his generosity. [001]
