A section of the drawing which shows the boundary of the 1910 engineering works and associated pontoon.

1928 - A section of the drawing which shows the boundary of the 1910 engineering works and associated pontoon. The siding enters by a double gate at the top end of the yard, proceeds toward the dock edge and then points permit a truck to be shunted into the works to be off-loaded by the overhead crane inside the main works. The siding was still in place when I worked for the company during the period 1966 to 1970 although I never witnessed it being used.

The double dotted lines which cut beneath the works, yard and siding is a pit for the hydraulic ring main serving the flow and return lines between the coal tips and accumulators at the south side of the dock and the hydraulic houses situated at the northern side of the dock.

Penarth Pontoon, Slipway & Shiprepairing Company by a PSA (Private Siding Agreement) entered into with the Taff Vale Railway on the 27th March 1908

1928 - The site of the Penarth Slipway and Gridiron. A private siding was connected to the main system for the Penarth Pontoon, Slipway & Shiprepairing Company by a PSA (Private Siding Agreement) entered into with the Taff Vale Railway on the 27th March 1908 with alterations in October 1914. The company changed name to the Penarth Dock Engineering Company Limited and the agreement was amended during October 1961. The sidings at this site were no longer required by April 1965 and presumably the agreement was terminated at this date. [008]
