1868 : A letter from the TVR Traffic Manager's Office at Cardiff regarding defective coal trucks belonging to Messrs. Insole & Sons in use at Penarth Dock and Tidal Harbour.

1868 : A letter from the TVR Traffic Manager's Office at Cardiff regarding defective coal trucks belonging to Messrs. Insole & Sons in use at Penarth Dock and Tidal Harbour. It is unclear to whom it was addressed but the letter is obviously an instruction to a TVR employee and required the following actions :

Traffic Manager's Office
Cardiff

April 7th 1868

Dear Sir

The following wagons belonging to Messrs Insole & Sons now standing at Penarth Dock and Tidal Harbour are defective in many respects and unsafe to travel on this Railway and are to be stopped in consequence : Nos. 0187. 0109. 0230. 0138. 0192. 0177. 0150. 0162. 0189. 0102. 0215. 055. 0196. 0216. 0144.

Please have these Wagons placed in Company's Siding's and give the necessary information to Messrs Insole & Sons of the charges for Siding rent re what will be made upon them ; before they are removed these charges to be paid.
