The Bristol Channel Mission Cutter 'Eirene' - November 29th, 1843 -  a painting by Bob Horring with many thanks to Mr. Mervyn Pearce for his kind permission to use this lovely artwork on the Penarth Dock website. The Mission cutter 'Eirene' flies a flag with a cross, which predates the 'Flying Angel' emblem of the Mission, adopted three years later. Other vessels make their way to her for their crews to hear the teachings and to pray for a fair wind and sea, and their safe voyage home to their loved ones. [946] [947] [20210417]
