The 'General Plan and Section' of the 'Contract Drawing' entitled 'Penarth Harbour Dock and Railway Road from the Bute Docks Cardiff to Penarth Tidal Harbour'
The 'General Plan and Section' of the 'Contract Drawing' entitled 'Penarth Harbour Dock and Railway Road from the Bute Docks Cardiff to Penarth Tidal Harbour'. The swing bridges over the River Taff and the Glamorganshire Canal are clearly indicated. The centre-line of the roadway is used as the datum for the cross-sectional view. The swing bridge over the Taff shows the supporting masonry whilst the bridge is in the open position. Interestingly, the swing bridge was identified as a viaduct in this plan.
