1914-18 - A view across the mud toward Penarth Head and the Mercantile Marine Office Building and Customs House at Penarth Dock. During WWI, the Manchester Regiment guarded Cardiff Dock. The flower border indicates that it was the 8th Manchester's who were 'Always Ready'. This photograph is borrowed from Stewart Williams', fine series of books, 'Cardiff Yesterday' and it is from No.8, first published in 1984, that the photograph is attributed to Mr. Fred Jones. [525]
