A photograph dated 21st March 1884 of ships at Cefn y Wrâch by J. L. Howe of Penarth. The ship at the left of the image 'with the strong list' is the s.s. 'Ashfield' and the vessel foremost being the s.s. 'Driffield'. These handwritten notes also state 'taken about noon - high water 1-10 pm.' It appears to me that this photograph was probably taken from the Penarth Dock Beach, perhaps from the Ferry Landing there. With many thanks to the Glamorgan Archives, Cardiff.
