1878-79 - The entrance to Penarth Dock is shown with a southern jetty only, labelled 'Pier' and with the green rectanuglar border, in this OS map surveyed 1878-9 and published in 1885. This jetty to have been built sometime in the early 1880's but after the opening of the dock in 1865. [010] [xxx]

1915 - A later OS map, revised in 1915 and published in 1920, shows a northern jetty and an extended southern pier at the entrance to the Penarth Dock Basin.
