◊ The Cooper Boat Yard relocated at Cogan Pill - Part of the c.1880 OS map. The Cogan Pill followed the line of the embankment to the lower left of the word 'Mud' with the other witness line commencing close to the outlet marked across the river Ely. I believe the Cooper boat building yard to be the buildings and markings shown on the embankment at the head of the pill? [010]

◊ The relocated boatyard at Penarth - 1860's - The entrance to the Cogan Pill on the opposite bank of the River Ely was the intended entrance to the proposed Ely Dock of I. K. Brunel. (see also chapter on the subject of Mr.B's 1836 Ely Docks) Above the Pill is the Cogan Pill House of the Corbett family with the Cogan Pill Farm to the right. The sheds are probably those of Cooper's relocated boat building yard. I repaired and colourised, as best I could, the lower image to show more clearly the location.
