Penarth Pier.

• Penarth Pier - A fine postcard view from near the end of pier. The card was posted in Cardiff during August 1907 to Miss Williams of Sparkhill. Birmingham. It is from the 'Krono' Series of postcards held within the Penarth Dock Collection. [001] [20191112]

View of Penarth from Pier.

• View of Penarth from Pier - Another postcard view of the Esplanade with the millionaire's mansions above! The Town Crest of Penarth which bears (sorry about the pun!) the inscription 'Cynghori er Llesiant', which roughly translated could be to counsel for good. With regard to the bear emblems, well the probable explanation is the similarity of the bear to the Penarth Head according to some educated people of Penarth ; maybe they were intoxicated at the time! The postcard is dated June 1906 and is a Harding's (Bristol & Cardiff) " Britannia " Series from the Penarth Dock Collection. [001] [20191112]
