Penarth Dock, South Wales - 150 years - the heritage and legacy
Penarth Dock, South Wales - the heritage & legacy . . .

Volume Eight - Pre-Victorian to the Present Day - Even more aspects - More Moments Captured in Time . . .

• The Promenade, Penarth - A Valentine's series postcard probably dating from the early 1950's given the ladies fashions on show! The days when you had to carry your own deck chairs across the road, when you could leave your bicycle leant up against a lamppost without fear of it being stolen and the days when there was space to park your car on the promenade. The days when you were courteous to ladies, ate knickerbocker glory at Mr. Rabbiotti's ice cream parlour and had to wash the mud off your shoes and legs if your ventured onto the beach! Oh, how I miss those warm sunny days!  Another piece of social history lost forever but held within the Penarth Dock Collection. [001] [20200307]
