s.s. 'Albatros' - Report on Machinery for Albatros - 17th June 1887 - page 2. She was constructed at the yard of the Penarth Ship Building & Ship Repairing Co. Ltd. and launched on the 23rd May 1887. The surveyors were Mr G. L. Hindmarsh and Mr. A. E. Keydell whom are Ship and Engineering Surveyor based at the Lloyds office at 4, Bute Crescent, Cardiff at that date.
