The s.s. 'Vivienne', an iron hulled, single screw steamer of 1,289 gross and 838 net register tons, was built at the Stockton yard of Richardson, Duck & Company Limited, being launched during September 1880 and completed the following month for owners Cuthbert, Hancock & Lamb of Cardiff. Her vital statistics were 239.2 ft. long x 34.1 ft. breath x 16.4 ft. deep. She had a total of five owners at the Port of Cardiff being sold in 1898 to Bugge & Company of Mandal. She foundered in June 1911 after a collision with 'Glenelg' off the Lizard, on passage from Penarth bound for Copenhagen with a cargo of coal. [833]
