s.s. 'Mungret' was built at a yard in Dublin for the Sligo Steam Navigation Company and launched during November 1912 as the 'Sligo' being of 515 gross register tons. She served the Limerick Steamship Company in the years 1917 - 1934 during which time the collision with the tug 'White Rose' off Penarth occurred. Upon her sale, in 1934, to a Glasgow based owner she was renamed 'Nugget' and finally met her breaker in 1952. Thanks to R. J. Scott's history of the Limerick Steamship Company published within 'Ships Monthly', (March, April and May 1982 issues) for the above info. [852] The above photograph by B.
