s.s. 'Tregenna' - 'Stathe' from 1915

 
s.s. 'Tregenna'.

The s.s. 'Tregenna' was built at the West Yard of John Redhead & Sons os South Shields having been launched during February 1892 for owners E. Hain & Son of St Ives, Cornwall. She was a single screw, general cargo ship, of 2,623 gross and 1,691 net register tons being 298.4 ft. long x 40.1 ft. breath x 20.1 ft. depth.

During 1915 she was sold to the Stathe Steamship Company (J. S. Rees) of Cardiff and was renamed 'Stathe' Whilst on a voyage from Penarth (Port of Cardiff) bound for Livorno with a cargo of coal, she was captured, shelled and sunk by U35, c.50 miles off Barcelona on 26th September 1916. There were no casualties.
