'Breeze'

 

'Breeze' - Archaeological remains associated with the loss of this vessel are not confirmed as present at this location, but may be in the vicinity.

Event and Historical Information:

The BREEZE was a 12nt wooden smack built in 1883. At time of loss, the vessel was owned by W. Morgan of Penarth who was also the master.

The smack was carrying a cargo of sand from Swanbridge to Penarth Dock on 28 February 1903, when it was caught in a northwesterly force 7 gale and stranded 0.5miles west of Lavernock Point.
