Volume Eleven - Pre-Victorian to the Present Day - some more aspects - All Change at Cogan Junction and Llandough Sidings . . . During January 2021, an extremely knowledgeable gentleman named Brian Mills [922] made contact regarding corrections to text regarding the Breaksea light vessel and subsequent navigation lights off Barry. He describes himself as an ardent fan of Trinity House matters since 1946. Brian worked at the Cogan Junction Signal Box for a while during the 1960's and is author of two books, namely, 'Western Region Semaphore Signalling in the 1960s and Thereafter' and more recently, 'A Special Pictorial History of the Barry Railway - its Docks and Successors'. The following photographs are copyright of Brian and Phil Toogood [923] and are also on the Trackbed website [924] together with many more interesting heritage records of our local rail network. The following photographs are a record of change since the late 1950's. Many thanks to Brian and Phil for their contribution to this Penarth Dock Story. Brian comments :- 'Following the dramatic changes that came about with the Cardiff Multiple Aspect Signalling installation after 1965, Llandough sidings were rehashed and the up main line over the bowstring girder bridge spanning the River Ely was taken out of use and dismantled and the up line diverted over the girder beam bridge to the seaward side and the up relief became the down main. I have recorded most of the permanent way and signalling changes as the following photographs indicate.'
