s.s. 'Arabistan' in 1929

The s.s.'Arabistan' was launched during June 1929 at the West Yard at South Shields of J. Readhead & Sons Limited. She was of 5,874 gross and 3,701 net register tons being 425.7 ft. length x 55.0 ft. breath x 28.5 ft. depth. She was owned by Strick Line (1923) Limited (F. C. Strick & Company Limited, managers of London. [102] [image credits : Clive Ketley]

She was sunk in February 1942 with the loss of 65 crew, only two survived its shelling, whilst on a voyage from Cape Town to Trinidad in ballast.
