Volume Eleven - Pre-Victorian to the Present Day - some more aspects - The Case of Price vs Livingstone at the Court of Appeal - 1882 . . .

The sailing ship 'Buckhurst' was an iron hulled, three masted ship, built in 1880 at the Dumbarton shipyard of Archibald McMillan & Son. She was of 1,908 gross and 1,877 net register tons being 275 ft. long x 40.4 ft. breath x 23.7 ft. depth. She was first registered in the Port of London during November 1880 to the "Buckhurst" Ship Company Limited - William R. Price & Company, manager, of Austin Friars, London.

The 'Buckhurst' was lost in May 1897 when she caught fire and was abandoned off the Coco Island, Panama, laden with coal. Many thanks, once again, to the Caledonian Maritime Research Trust Website [425] for the above information.
