1907 - 2nd G. A. Volunteers - Colonel E. C. Fry the New Commander.

Colonel E. C. Fry, who takes the place of Colonel Oakden Fisher * as commandant of the 2nd Glamorgan Royal Garrison Artillery, is a very popular officer. Colonel Fry took his first commission as long ago as 1875, when the Penarth Battery, as it was then called, was formed. Colonel Ingram was chiefly responsible for that detachment. Colonel Fry is the acme of perfection in the working up of the corps, and he will be supported by some of the best men at the Docks. - Evening Express [135] [361] 26th September 1907.

*Colonel Henry Oakden Fisher (was the son of George Fisher) and was the Engineer/Superintendent of the Carriage and Wagon Department of the Penarth Dock & Harbour Company. He resided at Tynant House, Morganstown and became the Resident Engineer for the Penarth Dock Extension Works of 1881-83.

1907 - Officers' Inquiry at Cardiff - An inquiry by a board of officers, of which Colonel Bees Lewis, commandant of the 3rd. V.B. Welsh Regiment, as chairman, was held at Cardiff on Friday. As we stated in July, this inquiry was brought about by a complaint on the part of Captain Ingram that he was not mentioned for promotion after the camp of 1906. The board cannot go further than report to the War Office. In the meantime, it should be noted that the voluntary resignation of Colonel Fisher has been accepted, and his successor (Colonel Fry) is appointed. - Evening Express [135] [361] 28th September 1907.
