[A] Subway under sidings between coal tips Nos. 8 and 9 with path down from the Royal Hotel at the junction of Arcot Street, Harbour View Road and Dock Road.

3rd June 1950 - Image 5298 - The east end of Penarth Dock showing the lock gates [A] between the dock and the basin closed. Moored up on the northern quay are two amazing sailing vessels, being 'the last Horners,' and carrying a cargo of grain from Australia. They are being held at the dock awaiting permission to discharge their cargoes.
