That the sea has played havoc with this coast is indicated by the fact that a church has been dug out of the sand at St. Enodoc ; that a cemetery of the Iron Age has been discovered in Harlyn Bay ; and another church found in the sands of Constantine Bay, which is bounded by Trevose Head, with its Lighthouse. Trevose Head is about five miles from Padstow, and the view westwards of the coast scenery, with Bedruthan Steps and Newquay in the distance, is very striking. the Lighthouse occults a red flash three times a minute, visible twenty miles at sea.
