The sailing ship 'Ellenbank' showing a Longitudinal Section & Deck Plan dated 17th January 1884 of the vessel together with a Iron Ship Survey Report for Ellenbank, 30th October 1885 undertaken by Mr. Thomas J. House, Surveyor to Lloyd's Register of British and Foreign Shipping. The 'Ellenbank' sailed for San Francisco from Ritson's Yard at Maryport via Penarth Dock later that month. She was 242.2 feet long x 37.5 feet wide x 21.6 feet in depth and had three masts and was of 1, 426 gross tons. Many thanks to Lloyds Register of Shipping for these historic records. [856]
