The Penarth Seaside Hotel, Penarth, near Cardiff. An entry published within the 1873-4 Percy & Butcher Directory. The proprietor, W. G. Jones begs to inform us that 'riffraff' are not welcome in his establishment! The hotel being the Penarth Hotel of the Taff Vale Railway Hotel situated upon the headland above the Penarth Dock which opened in September 1870.
