mid- 1980's - The remnants of Dai Woodham's yard at No. 1 Dock, Barry. [000] [002]

Dai had attended a training course at the famous Swindon works in the art of cutting up steam engines for scrap and his company expanded into four different divisions at at its peak employing around 200 people ; Woodham Bros., Woodham Marine, Woodham Transport as well as Woodham Metals. Dai Woodham had acquired 297 locomotives by August 1968 and in excess of 200 of these ended up in the hands of the preservation movement. The most famous loco, 'Olton Hall' became the 'Hogwarts Express' and appeared in all eight of the Warner Bros., Harry Potter films!
