A selection of our steam heritage waiting for destruction at the end of No. 1 Dock, Barry. Luckily many were rescued and restored to their former working glory. [000] [002]

It wasn't until May 2013 that the last locomotive left the Barry graveyard. The G.W.R. 2-8-0 No. 2861 left Barry for the Llangollen Railway workshops by road to be completely rebuilt. She had arrived at Barry just half a century earlier and whilst her departure ended a steam era at Barry these locomotives and their associated rolling stock started new heritage lives elsewhere!
